What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is a completely natural state that can be achieved by everyone who wants to. A light hypnotic state might be similar to the feelings associated with day-dreaming. As the hypnosis becomes deeper, greater feelings of relaxation and calmness are achieved. This is where the Hypnotherapist works as the subconscious mind is highly suggestible. However, only instructions that you want to become a part of your life are accepted by the subconscious part of your mind. Throughout the hypnotic experience you hear everything that we say and can easily communicate with us.
What does hypnosis feel like? Hypnosis is a personal experience and, therefore, different for everyone. However, most people report feeling extremely calm, relaxed, comfortable and at ease. (That’s how it is for us!)
Will I do things that I don’t want to do? No - when you are in hypnosis you are completely aware of everything that is happening around you. In fact, when in hypnosis you often experience a heightened sense of awareness than usual. A Hypnotherapist cannot make you do anything that you do not want to do.
